Village “Run for the Parks”

The Village of Johnson Creek Park and Rec. Department is in the process of planning the 1st Annual “Run for the Parks” for August 2, 2008 at Fireman’s Park.  This 5K event will be run through the streets of Johnson Creek with the Start/Finish line at Fireman’s Park.  There will also be a Kids Dash for the younger runners to participate in.  The kids dash will take place at Fireman’s Park and be run in a cross country style format within the park.  The proceeds from this event will go towards park improvements and recreational opportunities.

This event will provide runners in the area a challenging 5K course with a professionally run timing system.  Organizers hope that this event will become a mainstay in the Village and row in size and scope.  If you are interested in volunteering for the event please call Jeff Constable at 699-2524.
