The art students of Johnson Creek High School were asked to create a logo that we would use on advertising and promotional items for the Empty Nest Open such as the logo golf balls that will be distributed to our golfers. The logo was to represent the golf outing itself along with the benefactor of the monies raised which is the Johnson Creek Area Chamber of Commerce's Scholarship Fund. Our committee felt this logo captured the event very well, combining the graduation cap, the golf course and of course the mascot of the Johnson Creek High School - the BlueJay.
The logo selected was the work of Tyler Halsey of Johnson Creek High School. The golf committee wishes to thank all the students who submitted entries as there were many that were deserving and under consideration. Congratulations to Tyler on a very well thought out and delivered creation.
Thank you also to Mrs. Gross the Jr./Sr. High Art teacher who brought the idea to the students and helped to deliver some excellent art work that made our decision very difficult.
